I found such a great article from Susan at LifeHack and I wanted to add some factors that I think would also be helpful in making your business website eye-catching. Aside from what Susan compiled – Opt-In Box, Who you are, What you do, Sticky Content Writing and Contact Information – you should also consider adding the following:
E-Commerce with credit card payment option
Introduce and sell your products or services online. You should attract new customers and make your current customers stick with you through online shopping. What’s great about this is that it is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, so make use of this advantage. Of course, to make this convenient for your online shoppers you will need to be able to accept credit cards as a form of payment.
Build relationships
Create a website where people can build their own profile. People will want to come back when they know what they’re interested in and can modify their personal page accordingly. This is how social networking sites have become a huge success. This is a great tool for creating loyalty. You are providing exactly what your customers want.
Sponsor or manage an event
Sponsor or hold an event from time to time. For this to work, you should have an easy online registration system enabled on your site for your potential participants. This will also help you manage bookings, requests, payments and etc., effectively.
Do market research
Gather information on your current customers and potential customers either through analyzing site usage statistics or simply by doing online surveys.
