Some Tips For Effective Writing
Here are a few simple tips for effective writing that you can easily follow:
- Good writing is something that is easy to understand. Create clear and simple sentences as much as possible. Keep your descriptions short and direct to the point.
- Avoid using words that are not so common to the reader. Don’t use fancy terms that the reader might find difficult to understand. Only use uncommon words whenever necessary.
- Use standard words. Don’t use abbreviations, slang or jargon unless you are sure that the reader will understand and only when really necessary.
- While short sentences might be easier to understand, don’t make all your sentences too short as to make it sound clipped or lacking.
- Vary the length of your sentences. Make some sentences longer, while other sentences are shorter.
- The use of nouns and verbs is better compared to adjectives and adverbs.
- Use the active voice more often than the passive voice. It is better that way.
